R. Louise Fitch Pin Pendant

This pin pendant originally belonged to R. Louise Fitch, Knox College.

Details

Tri Delta Founder Sarah Ida Shaw Martin, Boston University, began the tradition of special pieces of jewelry being passed to Fraternity officers for the duration of their term. The earliest pieces were her personal belongings, but over the years items belonging to other early leaders were added to the collection. It became a tradition for the Fraternity's leaders to pass the pieces to their incoming counterparts at the end of their induction ceremony. This pin was traditionally given to the Membership Director and is currently passed to a member of the Executive Board. The pearl in the center was added in 1984.

This pin features a gold pansy with a pearl center, set with in a gold crescent. The pin has been made into a pendant, which hangs on a gold chain.
