Etta May Budd organized a new group at Iowa State University and installed it as Delta Chapter in 1890, but faculty and anti-fraternity legislation forced the chapter to surrender its charter in 1892. The name Delta was eventually transferred to Simpson, and when Iowa State was reinstalled in 1912, it was permitted to keep the name of the petitioning local group, Omega Delta.
