1914 - 1918

Shortly after World War I was declared, R. Louise Fitch, Knox College, went to New York to work with the national officers of the YWCA. In April 1918, she traveled to France to study the effects of the war on the women there. Tri Delta's war service project, support of the Foyer des Alliées in Tours, France, originated with R. Louise, who noticed the need for a place for the women of France to go during their hours off work.
