Alpha Epsilon Chapter began as a local group, Sigma Phi Epsilon, founded in 1905. In 1909, it became a chapter of Alpha Sigma Alpha, but when the fraternity decided to become a pedagogical society, it released its Brenau chapter in 1913. The chapter petitioned Tri Delta for membership, and Alpha Epsilon was installed a year later.
