Helen Russell Notesteen, University of Minnesota, was born on July 22, 1903 in Kansas. She attended the University of Minnesota, where she was initiated as a member of Theta Chapter. She married Edward N. Notesteen, a corporal in the United States Army during World War I, on December 8, 1931 in Minneapolis.

From 1948 to 1952, Notesteen served as director of pledge training, and from 1952 to 1956, she was collegiate secretary. She served a single two-year term as president of Tri Delta from 1956 to 1958.

Notesteen passed away on March 23, 1984 at the age of 80.
